Chai & Cry

IT ISN'T  THERAPY, BUT IT'S THERAPEUTIC

Come for the chai,

stay for the connection.

Chai and Cry was a concept born among my friend circle. We used this as our evening ritual of meeting after work to decompress, have tea and spill it too.

I am excited to extend this offering to the community. In a world where everything is digitized, I aim to create a space where we can slow down, sip tea and connect.

With Love,

Rushini J.

What is Chai & Cry?

This is an adult peer led space created to build connection within the Portland community while enjoying a cup of authentic chai (tea) or any other non-alcoholic beverage. In the era of doom scrolling and using “AI” as your sounding board, Chai and Cry welcomes you to return to human connection.

*Crying not required to attend this event, but definitely welcomed

What Chai & Cry Isn’t

  • A replacement for professional services including therapy

  • A crisis support space

  • A space where you are required to share more than you like

  • A space where you need to already know someone to attend (we’re all strangers & a little socially anxious- it’s okay)

  • Actual therapy

This is a donation-based workshop — we never want cost to be the reason you miss out. If you're able to chip in a few dollars towards the cost of hosting this gathering, we'll be collecting donations at the event; but please come regardless!
